The opinions of many travelers

Parking available at the exit for a fee. A variety of stores to choose from. We were given the recommendation to visit the shopping center while we were staying at a hotel in the area, so we went ahead and went there. Using the navigation system, you should have no trouble finding it. In addition to that, there is a diverse selection of dining options. It is recommended that you go there if you are already in the neighborhood.

No matter what time of day you go to this center, you will find that it is quite crowded. There are lots of things to do, as well as seasonal events, both in and around the center. The Winter Garden Cafe, which can be found on the upper level near the bus station, is widely known to be one of the top attractions, yet few people really know about it.

If you have been to the center previously, you could have missed this undiscovered treasure, which not only features a climbing gym for larger children but also a soft play area for the youngest members of the family. If you have been there before, you should definitely check it out. The rates are extremely cheap, and the cuisine is pretty excellent, but the things that thrill me the most are probably the coffee and the caramel cookies.

The wait staff at Winter Garden Cafe are a youthful, vibrant bunch who are always happy to be of service. Unfortunately, they are not included on TripAdvisor, Google Maps, or even the map of the center of town, which is wonderful for those of us who want a cup of coffee in privacy but not so good for their very great small business.

When you shop at Primark, you always know what you're going to receive, and the shop in Livingston is no exception. A decent range spread across three levels, and all at the same low, unbeatable price as always.

The hours of operation

The number of hours that each store is available to the public may differ. We kindly ask that you verify the opening hours of each store individually on their own websites or by visiting www.thecentrelivingston . It has been brought to our attention that the eateries on Restaurant Avenue maintain longer hours.

Discover The Centre: Background history

The original shopping center was constructed in the early 70s by the  LDC (Livingston Development Corporation), which is no longer in business. This became home to a variety of retailers, ranging from smaller independent boutiques like Virgo, a clothing store, music shop, to more famous brands like WoolCo and FineFare. The retail center was extremely dimly lit, creating the sense of an open-air shopping center despite the fact that it was covered over.

With the passage of time, it was upgraded to provide customers with an environment that was more aesthetically pleasing and sophisticated. This was accomplished by installing flooring that was more contemporary and trademarks and emblems for the shopping center.

The second stage

It was deemed that the current facade of the center would benefit from an expansion into a second phase. This would have contained a supermarket that was created specifically for the purpose. One of the 2 towers would have been positioned on the main entry facade, while the other would have been located on the side entrance, which is where the modern supermarket is. The second phase was opened to the public in the mid-90s, and it featured well-known retailers.

The third stage of Centre Livingston

The building, which is now 30 years old and had its most recent enlargement in 2008, included an entirely new design idea. The new expansion, which was given the codename The Features, blended a variety of distinct elements to create the image of being outdoors even though it was located within a structure. In order to do this, a very tall glass ceiling was constructed, which spans a very large corridor like a department store and is coated with tiles that seem like grey slate.

These are the zones.

The center is composed of the following three distinct areas:

  • Almondvale Walk (dating back to the 1970s),
  • Almondvale Place (established in 1995).
  • The Avenue (opened in 2008).

Stores that serve as an anchor

The shopping center is home to a variety of different retail businesses, including Primark and M & S, which are both considered to be "anchor stores." The new shopping center, which goes by the name Elements Square, features a see-through ETFE roof that extends over all four main streets. In addition to it, there is a public space that is covered called the Winter Garden.

The Elements Square development is a one-of-a-kind endeavor that provides its residents with the sensation of being outdoors while also shielding them from the adverse effects of the environment. Shopping in Livingston has been given a completely new atmosphere thanks to the curving boulevards and towering roofs.
